HCube Homes Off-the-Grid Options
We have designed HCube Homes for direct connection to water, sewer and electricity services. In remote areas or where the access to stable and reliable utilities is limited, we offer unique independent solutions to individual homes or entire developments that either compliment or operate completely independent of available utility services.
Rain Water Catchment, Containment and Delivery
This option eliminates the need to connect to a municipal water supply removing the related need for infrastructure costs in housing and developments. Sufficient clean water storage can be provided to support regular use and carry the home or community through the dry season where there is little or no rainfall for an extended period.
Sewer Catchment Treatment and Onsite Disposal
This option eliminates the need for sewer services to the home. Holding tanks and processing equipment is provided with this option and the sewer outlets are connected to this equipment. The sterilized nutrient-loaded water is trickled to green leafy plants about the home, where the water is given up to the atmosphere through their leaves. The remaining nutrients provide food for healthy landscape growth.
Bio-Gas Generation and Storage for Cooking Heating and Electricity
This selection further expands the sewer catchment option referenced above. By capturing and storing the bio-gas (methane) from the sewer process, it becomes ready for use in appliances such as the water heater, cook-top and refrigerator.
Solar Water Heating
Our solar water heating option uses the energy of the sun to heat water for laundry, kitchen, bath and shower, depending on consumption and hours of sunshine. It is expected that the system will heat and maintain the water temperature at 55 deg Celsius. Auxiliary heating can be used to raise the water temperature up to typical hot water storage of 70 deg Celsius.
Fuel Cell Electrical Generation using Bio-Natural or Methane Gas
Fuel cell option converts gas directly to electricity right at the home for any typical domestic electrical use including heavy start-load appliances such as a washing machine. The system will, without troublesome batteries, provide year round independent electricity at more than double the efficiency of traditional gas powered electrical plants with no green house gas emissions.
